Fiets en Wandelbeurs moves to Ghent in new set-up

After two successful years in Antwerp, the ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ will be moving for its sixth edition in 2017 to Ghent, more precisely to Flanders Expo. This accommodation provides the space for the realisation of a new total event under the name of Hicle Outdoor. The ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ is working in co-operation with e-bike Challenge and Mount Expo in this new set-up.

e-bike Challenge

In the weekend of 18th. and 19th. February 2017 Hicle Outdoor will present the new e-bike Challenge, an event for consumers considering the purchase of an electric bicycle. The idea germinated in Utrecht, where the Netherlands’ edition of the ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ earlier this year was linked to a new initiative: e-bike Xperience. The event was set-up to allow visitors to test and compare a wide range of e-bikes, e-mountain bikes and speed pedelecs, with each type having its own separate test track. Makers and manufacturers of bikes jumped on the bandwagon and the Fair drew a record number of visitors.

Mount Expo

Besides the ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ and e-bike Challenge, Hicle Outdoor will also incorporate the second edition of Mount Expo. The Flemish Climbing and Mountain Sport Federation organised the first edition of this event last year, a mix of Info stands and lectures with tailored advice from experienced climbers and mountain sports practitioners. At Flanders Expo the federation have a special treat in store for mountain lovers.

Hicle Outdoor

The result of the co-operation between the three events, is an enormously varied offering of bicycles, e-bikes, cycling and walking holidays, outdoor products, routes, destination, information markets, lectures and workshops. The connecting factor is that all of the events are aimed at being active and outdoors. The events are quite distinctive in terms of their identities, image and the audience they attract. With a single ticket for one of these events, visitors have free admission to all other events.
