More than 41,000 visitors cycling & hiking events

Last weekend, 41,376 visitors attended the combination of ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’, E-bike Xperience en Bike MOTION Benelux. It was the first time these three events had taken place simultaneously.

A single ticket for one of these events, also gave entrance to the other two. Many visitors took advantage of the opportunity so there was a lively interchange between visitors to the ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’, E-bike Xperience and Bike MOTION.

Grand Tour

The Alpine experience route ‘Grand Tour of Switzerland’, which wound its way through eight of the Jaarbeurs’ halls was popular. At the entrance visitors were given a ‘Switzerland-passport’, which they could have stamped at the various halts along the route. Thousands of visitors deposited their stamped passports in the milk churns provided which gave them a chance to win a trip to that Alpine country.

Test runs

Many cycling enthusiast took the opportunity to take a test run on the big test track of E-bike Xperience and the ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ in Halls 1 and 2. And as in previous years, visitors were looking ahead to their next trip or holiday in Halls 3 and 4. The lectures on routes like the Green Valleys Cycle Route, routes along pilgrims’ trails and the Vélodyssée in France were particularly well attended.

Biggest offerings

According to Theo Jorna, director of the ‘Fiets en Wandelbeurs’, the combination of the three events is well worth repeating. “The Fiets en Wandelbeurs, E-bike Xperience and Bike MOTION complement each other. Together they present the largest offering for consumers in cycling and hiking in Europe.”
